Le Symposium Apimondia 2012, qui se tient pour la 1re fois au Québec, est un évènement international qui vous permettra d’actualiser vos connaissances sur l’élevage de reines, la sélection et la pathologie de l’abeille mellifère. La programmation propose des conférenciers de renommée mondiale, un hall d’exposition présentant les plus importantes et toutes dernières innovations en apiculture, un choix de circuit technique ou d’atelier de formation et un souper thématique à saveur du Québec.

Held for the first time in Québec city, Apimondia Symposium 2012 is an international event who will allow you to update your knowledge on honey bee queen breeding and pathology. The program presents several world class speakers, an exhibit hall full of the latest and greatest innovations in beekeeping, a choice of workshops and a thematic dinner with a Quebec taste.

Grâce à un nouveau programme de transfert technologique, les apiculteurs américains peuvent maintenant sélectionner spécifiquement pour cette caractéristiques dans les croisements génétiques.
Hygienic behaviour is an important mechanism of desease and mite resistance. US beekeepers are actively selecting for this trait through a new Technology Transfer program.

In Europe 30 years ago, colonies could survive with one Varroa treatment. Today, three to four per year are necessary. New strategies should be developed.

The Scientific Program Committee for the Quebec Apimondia Symposium 2012 invites all interested researchers to submit an abstract. Submitted abstracts should report new information not published or presented at previous international scientific meetings.
 
Accepted abstracts will have to be presented orally, in a short presentation of 20 minutes, and will be published in the conference notebook.
 
Please prepare the following information when submitting your abstract in French or English :

    1. Abstract category - please choose one of the themes listed :

        - Bee breeding and selection
        - Bee pathology

    2. Author or author’s names: name (first name), surname (family name)

    3. Affiliation details of all authors

    4. Title

    5. Summary - limited to 500 words/ 3500 characters, Arial 12 pt, single-spaced lines

    6. Abstracts must use the following structured format :

       - Introduction
       - Materials and Methods
       - Results
       - Conclusions

 
Abstract submissions will be reviewed by the Scientific Program Committee. Abstracts will be reviewed according to the following criterias :
 
  - The content of the research pertains to one of the 2 session themes of the Symposium;
  - The research shows high relevance for beekeeping;
  - The abstract is appropriate for a professional and a scientific audience.

Note: All presenters are required to register when accepted
