Acceptation of Terms of Use

These Terms of Use constitute a legal agreement between you and the CRAAQ with regards to the access and use of the Site. PLEASE READ THE TERMS OF USE CAREFULLY before browsing through the Site.

By accessing this Site and by using its features, you signify your agreement with and understanding of the contract that constitutes all the Terms of Use contained in this document.

Introduction

As part of its mission, the CRAAQ organizes events and activities and administers websites for which registration is required. It also publishes various publications and offers them for purchase on its website. Electronic delivery is the preferred means to register for activities or to purchase publications. With this policy, the CRAAQ intends to clarify the measures taken so as to make sure the information gathered during online transactions is processed in a secure and confidential fashion. This policy applies to all websites administered by the CRAAQ.

 

Collected information and its use

What is personal information?

“Personal information” is information that concerns you as a person and that you have voluntarily provided as a user of CRAAQ’s websites and which enables you to be identified. It may be, for example, your name, your postal or email address, your home telephone number or cellphone number, or any other identification element.

Other types of information could be considered as being personal information if they are related to other information enabling your identification.
 

Information use

The collection of this information enables us to offer you products and services of interest that correspond promptly and appropriately to your needs in a personalized fashion, to process your orders more rapidly and to contact you, if needed.

Your email address, for example, is essential for the delivery of content from our sites and it is used for promotional purposes if your explicit authorization has been granted to us.  If you no longer wish to receive our promotions or news, you may unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the link provide for this purpose in the emails we send you.

We store this information so as to enable you to reuse it, without time limitation, if you wish to order content from our websites. We also use this data to improve the presentation and the organization of our sites, as well as for their customization.

Collection of information – Forms, cookies and automatic data transfer

We collect personal information in the following circumstances:
  • When you become a client or a member of the CRRAQ through one of our websites, by mail, by fax or by telephone;
  • When you register for a contest or a promotion from the CRAAQ through one of our websites, by mail or by fax;
  • When you make online purchases through one of our websites;
  • When you register online for an activity, including webcasting;
  • When you subscribe to our electronic newsletters;
  • When you answer our online surveys;
  • When you contact us by telephone, by mail or by email to make a request or to comment on our services or websites (in these cases, we store this information in our files for a certain period of time and the disclosure of your identity and personal information is voluntary);
  • A portion of the information is gathered via forms that you have voluntarily consented to provide us with that contain information that concerns you. Another portion of the information is gathered via cookies. Moreover, certain information that might not be directly associated to you might be transmitted by the navigation tool you use.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored in your web browser on your computer. The use of cookies is a widespread practice and most websites use them to enhance user experience on their website. These cookies do not have the capacity to access information on your hard drive. They help, for example, to take into consideration the web user’s language so as to open a home page in the correct language at a subsequent visit. No personal information that you might have sent is stored as a cookie; it is therefore impossible to associate the content of a cookie to your person specifically. Most web browsers allow you to manage and eventually, delete cookies. If you delete cookies, we might not be able to personalize your experience on our websites.
 

Automatic data transfer

When a user accesses any website, an exchange of information – that does not personally identify a user – is completed in a transparent manner between his/her computer and the visited site’s server. The information exchanged relates to computer features (operating system, screen resolution, etc.), the browser (type, version, etc.) and the modalities of visits on the websites (pages visited, length, dates and hours of access, site of origin, etc.). We take this information into consideration so as to optimize our clients’ experience on our sites. However, they remain anonymous and are never associated to our clients.
 

Disclosure of your personal information

Your personal information is used by the CRAAQ strictly for internal purposes and we do not sell, rent or market this information. We do not transfer any personal information to third parties. Furthermore, the CRAAQ does not market its clients’ lists. However, it is possible that this information may be used for research or statistical purposes. If so, the transmission of results or statistics would not disclose your identity or personal information.
 

 

Security

CRAAQ responsibilities: Data storage, transfer and security

In order to protect your personal information, the CRAAQ follows appropriate security measures on its computer servers, for both archiving and data transfer. We strive to protect you against the loss or the unauthorized use of the information you provide to us, in particular, the information relating to your credit card.
 

The CRAAQ complies with SSL secure communications protocols to ensure that each transaction is carried out in a secure fashion. Moreover, your payment is made directly through Desjardins, if applicable.
 

Following a transaction, the CRAAQ does not retain any data related to your credit card, which is why you must re-enter this information for every new transaction.

 

If however, online credit card payment is something you are concerned about, it is possible for you to use other methods (mail, telephone or fax) to carry out an order or a registration. Our contact information regarding all payment methods is indicated under the tab Terms and Conditions of Sale.

To our foreign clients: it is possible for us to store your personal information in servers that are not located in your country. The storage conditions comply with the principles set out in this policy.
 

Your responsibility: Consent and password

The CRAAQ obtains your consent when gathering, using and communicating any personal information listed in your client profile, unless subject to exceptions under applicable laws.

Your consent to our use of personal information may be withdrawn at any time by following the directions found in the “Right to access information, comments and complaints” section.

You are responsible of the information provided, as well as the confidentiality of the identification data, your username and password, if necessary. The CRAAQ may not be held responsible of an unauthorized use of this information by a third-party. In the event that the confidentiality of this information is compromised, it is important to promptly notify the CRAAQ so as to prevent fraudulent use of your identity.

The CRAAQ websites contain links to websites operated by other organizations and businesses. By clicking of these links, you will leave the CRAAQ websites. Terms and Conditions of Sale for publications published by the CRAAQ


PUBLICATION AVAILABILITY
The CRAAQ has all publications and other documents presented in its website catalogue in stock. Given a temporary shortage of stock, a notice at this effect is placed in the descriptive sheet corresponding to the document. The CRAAQ does not guarantee a minimum number of copies in stock. The documents in stock, as well as the number of copies in stock may vary depending on the demand and availability of the documents from the publishers, if applicable.

It is possible that documents listed on old purchase orders or previous catalogues still in circulation might be out of stock. In such cases, the CRAAQ will contact the client to inform them of the situation.

RETURN POLICY
Exchanges or refunds are not accepted.

SALE PRICE
The sale price is in Canadian dollars. The CRAAQ reserves the right to change prices at any time. Publications are payable according to the price set at the moment the order is received. Applicable taxes, handling and delivery costs are not included.
It is possible that the prices listed on old purchase orders or previous catalogues have changed. In such cases, the CRAAQ will contact the client to inform them of the situation.
 
HANDLING AND SHIPPING
For orders less than $55 (before taxes) shipped to Canada, the handling costs are $8.50 (plus tax). For any purchaseS of $55 or more (before taxes), handling costs are free with certain conditions:
  • This policy does not apply to libraries and schools.
  • The delivery address must be in Canada (exceptions apply for certain regions considered remote).
  • The minimum purchase must be $55 before taxes, per order and delivery address.
  • The minimum amount of $55 does not include electronic documents (PDF).
  • The cancellation of one or more items ordered that reduces the total order to less than $55 before taxes, a change of address or change of mode of delivery can cause lose of free shipping.

ORDERS AND PAYMENT METHOD
There are four ways to order:
  • By Internet from the publications catalogue available at www.craaq.qc.ca. Payment must be made by credit card (Visa or MasterCard). You will receive an email from Desjardins as well as from the CRAAQ confirming the transaction.
Please take note that electronic documents may only be ordered online. The Acrobat Reader file (.pdf) corresponding to the purchased document will be available in the section “My documents”. There are no handling and delivery costs for this type of document.
  • By telephone, contact our customer service at 418 523-5411 or 1 888 535-2537. You may pay by credit card (Visa or MasterCard), or by cheque or postal money order sent by mail (please write down the order number given to you by our customer service or your cheque or money order).
  • By mail or fax, send us your completed purchase order

ORDERS OUTSIDE OF CANADA
Please contact our customer service at 1 418 523-5411 or by email at [email protected] for more information about handling and delivery costs. Please take note that for all products delivered outside of Canada, the client is responsible for all customs and export fees.

DELIVERY TIME
The CRAAQ shall deliver orders after having received full payment by cheque, postal mail order or credit card (Visa or MasterCard).
The delivery time for publications is of 10 business days and 3 business days for electronic documents. This delivery period is calculated from the moment full payment is received.

CONFIDENTIALITY
The CRAAQ is committed to ensuring the confidentiality of your personal information. The transmission of your personal data to our websites is encrypted for greater security.
 

Terms and Conditions for the registration to events organized by the CRAAQ

PRE-REGISTRATION
In order to take advantage of the benefits of a pre-registration (see form below), your completed registration form must be returned to the CRAAQ before the pre-registration deadline for each event, as evidenced by postmark, fax date of dispatch or date of electronic entry.

AVAILABILITY OF PLACES AND CONFERENCE BOOKLETS
The availability of places and conference booklets, if applicable, is limited. Therefore, only those who are pre-registered to an event are sure to have a place and booklet reserved. A first come, first served principle is applied when an event is sold-out before the end of the pre-registration period, and at all times for those who register after the deadline or at the event itself.   

REFUND POLICY
No refunds will be made.
Not participating in an event does not exempt you in any way towards the payment of registration costs.
 
It is the absent participant’s responsibility to contact our customer service so as to obtain the event’s booklet, if applicable, or to obtain the Internet link towards the material presented at the event.

CANCELATION POLICY
Les organisateurs se réservent le droit de modifier en tout ou en partie la programmation, et ce, sans préavis. En cas d’annulation ou de report d’un évènement, les organisateurs pourront offrir, à leur discrétion, un remboursement ou une note de crédit.

HOW TO REGISTER
You may register by Internet, mail or fax. No registrations by telephone or email are accepted. Registrations are only finalized once the completed registration form is received.

Online registration www.craaq.qc.ca:
  • Payment by credit card (Visa or MasterCard) is mandatory.
  • You will receive an email from the CRAAQ confirming that we have received your registration and that it has been processed. Thereafter, the total sum of your transaction will be charged to your credit card.
  • A student that registers online must send documented proof (photocopy of student ID) to the CRAAQ, either by attaching a PDF file, or by sending the photocopy by mail or by fax, in order to benefit of a student rate. When a transaction is made online, the student must pay the full price, and once the evidence is validated, a refund will be made on the credit card used for the online payment.

WEBCASTING 
The CRAAQ offers a new webcasting service for certain events. 

Our webcasting service presents live conferences. For certain conferences, it will be possible to review the webcast after the event at a specific time period.

It is strictly prohibited for a user to give his/her personal access to other users.

Reproduction, broadcasting and distribution, in whole or in part, by any means, are prohibited without authorization from the CRAAQ.

The refund and cancellation policies are the same for an event.
