Call for abstracts

The 2^nd Canadian Organic Science Conference is intended to feature organic research by natural and social scientists from across Canada and international research of relevance to Canadians. The primary purpose of this abstract submission process is to allow the Program Committee to select and place all of the oral and poster presentations in appropriate sections of the conference. Papers may be presented orally or as a poster, in English only. The conference organizers reserve the right to publish these abstracts on any of the conference partners’ website.

We ask that you complete the online form below with all the details requested and also ask that you upload a Word file of your title, authors and affiliations, abstract and keywords. Please see the Attachment field for further details.

Deadline - Postponed abstract submission deadline:

Abstracts must be submitted through the online abstract submission form on the conference website: www.craaq.qc.ca/COSC2016 by April 29, 2016. Those presenters with accepted abstracts will be notified by May 15, 2016.

The fields marked with a * are mandatory.

Title * Capitalize the first letter of all major words in the title and end the title with a period.

Name(s) of Author(s) * Please indicate the author(s) of the paper in the following format:

Initial(s) and Last name1, Initial(s) and Last name2, etc.
If more than one author, please identify the presenting author with an asterix (*) following their name.

Affiliation(s) and address(es) of author(s) * Provide the address of each author with the identifying number supplied in the author information, as 1. Address; 2. Address, etc.

Presenting author’s name * Please indicate the presenting author of the paper in the following format:

Initial(s) and Last name

Presenting author’s email * Provide an e-mail address for the corresponding/presenting author.

350-word abstract *

The abstract should not exceed 350 words in length.
The abstract should be presented in a format that is easily understood across multiple disciplines and by audiences that may include scientists, extension specialists, agricultural professionals, students and farmers.
The abstract should include: an overview of the nature of the project that will be discussed; key objectives; expected or achieved conclusions and outcomes of the project; and the relevance of the project to organic agriculture in Canada. Results of projects may be included as appropriate.
Any scientific names are to be italicized and written in full, accompanied with the authority the first time they are mentioned. Cultivar names are to have single quotation marks around them. Abbreviations are to be spelled out the first time.
Please note that editing for typos, clarity or grammar will NOT be done by the compilers.

Attachment: Word document * Please attach a Word document including the title, authors’ names and affiliations, email address of the presenting authors, 350-word abstract, and keywords. Please follow the instructions previously stated above for each item, and the following additional instructions :

On the first line, please place the title in bold.
On the line below the title, please provide the authors’ names.
On the next line, please provide the authors’ address.
On the line below, please insert an email address for the presenting author.
Leave a single space between the email address of the presenting author and the abstract.
Insert your 350-word abstract.
On the line following the end of the abstract text, please type the word "Keywords" and insert your keywords.
The text is to be single spaced, left justified with 12 point Times New Roman font.

Keywords Please provide 3 to 5 keywords relevant to the abstract.

Subject theme * Please indicate in which subject theme you wish your paper to be considered.

Presentation format * Please indicate whether you wish your paper to be considered for an oral or poster presentation.
